Europe: NÚKIB and Slovak NBU sign MoC

The National Cyber and Information Security Agency (‘NÚKIB’) announced, on 9 February 2023, that it had signed, on 8 February 2023, a Memorandum of Cooperation (‘MoC’) with the Slovak National Security Office (‘NBU’).

In particular, the NÚKIB noted that the meeting aimed to deepen their long-term and beneficial cooperation in 17 areas of cyber and information security, including sharing information, know-how, and experience, supporting training and education of employees, and jointly investigating incidents to create a secure network environment. Moreover, the NÚKIB highlighted that the MoC includes sections on notifying each other when detecting an impact on the other country’s assets.

Furthermore, the NÚKIB emphasised that the meeting confirmed the long-standing and intensive cooperation between both parties, with discussions on implementing the recently adopted Directive on measures for a high common level of cybersecurity across the Union, repealing Directive (EU) 2016/1148 (‘the NIS2 Directive’) on the Czech experience from the recently ended presidency of the Council of the EU, and on the Slovak experience with the certification of auditors in the field of cybersecurity.
